"How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness, how the time has flown. How did it get so late so soon?" This eloquently phrased quote by Dr. Seuss reminds us that time is one of the most precious commodities we are gifted with. It can never be regained, yet it flows by so quickly.
I am always looking for ways to be more productive with my time, which is why when I got the MIMA e-mail about Productivity tools, I made it a point to attend. We discussed the productivity tools that the attendees use in their work and personal lives to manage schedules, time, shopping lists and so much more. Some of the tools mentioned were:
Personally, I use Google Calendar to track my appointments and the various things I have to do with my day. I have three e-mails, and my phone syncs everything nicely so I know where to be, at what time. I use Basecamp for one of my jobs, Slack and Evernote for a project I work on and the old pen and paper for checklists and so on. While my calendar and checklist method is sufficient, I am not entirely convinced that it allows me to be my most efficient and productive self.
I am currently trying out Wunderlist to see what I think of the app and to learn more about it. I also want to learn more about Slack and Evernote, as I lightly use them in a current project. I always think it is important to try out different kinds of software, especially if they can make you more efficient in your work and time management. I will be doing product reviews on these tools as I try them, so stay tuned!
Thank you for reading!
